About Me

My photo
like the lamp in the wind..strong yet delicate..determined yet flickery..calm yet disturbed...me yet not me...different facets...just a nomad on the road called life

It's still worth it..

Here there are no calculations
Of how much and how little
No limits
Guarded by wrongs and rights
Here its love from the beginning
Right to the very end
Reasons and mind don't work here
It's just about the heart and soul
There is pain no doubt
But its worth it and much more

For without risks
This doesn't work out
There are stories where
You know your love may stay for just a little while
Yet you hold on
Stoop low to pick up moments of us
Wrap them up in your smiles
The hurt immense-when you let go
When asked the worth of it
It is still worth a million lives!

For some it's a fight
For some it's all their life
For some it's each waking moment
yearning for that one thing
the world is poor at
For some it's a battle lost
For some won in a million ways
For some it's a hand to hold on to forever
For some it's lonely tears and long nights

But it's worth it..
The feeling that you loved
The feeling that you gave all you had..
Then sometimes when you wander down a lane
You see empty benches
Telling stories of eyes that meet beyond yourself
And reaching into depths called souls and life.

Illusioned

It's amazing how the mind works
Constructs
Destructs
Thinks-rethinks
Analyzes
According to its own whims and fancies
Believes- in uncertainties
Bended according to needs
Understands- the truth
Is beyond its power of
comprehension
Yet it shuts its eyes tight
And dreams aloud
Pictures of its own
Wanting desperately
To paint it with artificial colors and brush
A picture of beauty-
perceived
Which lies on the rim
Of happiness and sorrow
Tilted towards either one
By winds-
Uncontrollable-unperceived

Yet it shuts its eyes tight
And paints on
A picture colored by needs.

Days like today

There are days like today
When I am tired of being strong
I just crumple down
Into grains of sand
Trodden and low
Lost with the strong winds
Scattered into nothingness
Of uncertain tomorrows
Blown away far and wide
Ceasing to exist
Yet existing

It's days like these
That empty hollow
pieces of yesterdays
Mount into big hills
Of monstrous size
It's days like these
That I think
Of open arms and warmth
So scarce
And I wonder where along the road
I lost them or left them behind

It's just days like these
That maturity wins
The race of life
Leaving lonely footprints
For none to see
Or think of ...after me

Humanity Disguised

Humanely human-
Evolving with every wake of dawn
Right on top of
The evolution tree

"Humanity"-
Tagged just to the virtuous
A term
highly esteemed to be

White collared
With amenities
The thin edge
Demarcating wealth and poverty
With shirts neatly kept
Starched and ironed
Ready to be worn
On shoulders brimming with pride
Carrying effortlessly
Tagged-"humanity"

A smile here
A smile there
A photograph with
The emaciated
Forks and spoons
Properly arranged
For the supper
At the charity show

Awed and revered
By the common folk
"Humanity"
Brimming and overflowing
From the sleek car trailing past
Dusts of heavenly delights
And waves from the cheering crowd

A small fight just started
Two rickshaw pullers
Fighting over the same person
To be picked up
Hairs snatched
Nails clawed
Already tattered clothes
Torn to pieces..
Already flowing blood
Oozing out of the old wound
Made ripe by the fight

Barbarian act
A sight
Just watched
From the rolled down window pane
Of the sleek car
That just passed by

A meager ten buck
Another aspect of "humanity"
Covered and hidden
Inside suits and ties
Carefully perfumed
Disguised.

Distances I

If I were a painter
I'd paint you
With the colors of love
If you were near
I'd hold your hand in mine

I'm but a simpleton
All I can do is close my eyes
And picture you
Standing close by

Memories flood the heart and soul
Your smile
Your words
Your touch
You nearby

If I were the breeze
I'd travel across oceans and hills
To reach you for just a little while

If I were the earth
Distances would never be given
A second thought

All I am is a simpleton
All I can do is close my eyes
And smile
As your thought crosses my mind.

Distances

Well...walking back home from the lab...an idea struck me...of starting this entire sequel called distances..

When your loved one is far away...and the only way you can reach them is through your thoughts, wishes and prayers..

All it takes is a beautiful scenery, a crimson sunset, the clouds, the soft breeze, the rain, the storm, the birds, the children smile...just about anything that engulfs the essence of love and peace..for you to wish them nearby.

And then you stare into empty lanes ...see them walk to you...you blink and smile at the open lanes...

An ode to distances which separate yet bring you close in entrancing ways...

Distances II

The sun sets between the trees..
A blue hue covers the entire place
It has started raining
In my side of the world

The orange street lamps
Glisten the leaves
As they trickle down the drops
Of liquid melody

Children smile and laugh
Embellishing the entire scenery
People pass by in a haste
To reach the comforting arms
Of a place called home
For me my home..
Is but a dream...of just you and me

A toad just leaps to the safer grasses
As puddled ripples cover the ground

Its the drops
Its the rains
Its the symphony
Of the entire place
Transfixed to a moment
Of peaceful
Eternity

I just walk down the road
Listening to our favorite song
I gaze at the peeping moon
A star beside it
Wish upon it
To be there with you
For eternity..
Or just this lifetime
Would be quite enough for me
